Venue Review
First of all, the bars in the D.C. area should be boycotted for how expensive it is. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak, and when you must be weak, check out an Irish bar in Chinatown called "Fado". Myself and Stephano went on a thursday night and were surprised to find that every thursday an Irish band plays there, with three of the four members having graduated from Stubenville. They didnt play the more traditional fare that most would be looking for, but they still put on a good show. An added benifit to going to Fado is the fact that is right off the metro in the heart of Chinatown. Up and down the street are several more bars and club like venues. It gives the feel of a little Times Square.

I remember going to a place around the corner from the 9:30 Club called "The Velvet Lounge." Super sketchy place where we got Stag and Beam for $5 but I only think it was on thursdays. But it didn't really matter because my buddy knew the bartender. ;)
Ah, the old know-the-bartender trick! Definietly the cheapest way to drink around here, especially if its long islands the throwin down.
